UPSC ISS IES Recruitment 2024 Eligibility
Indian Economic Service (IES):
Post-graduate Degree in Economics/ Applied Economics/ Business Economics /Econometrics from a University incorporated by an Act of the Central or State Legislature in India or other Educational Institutes established by an Act of Parliament.
Indian Statistical Service (ISS):
Bachelor’s Degree in Statistics/ Mathematical Statistics/ Applied Statistics from a University incorporated by an Act of the Central or State Legislature in India or other Educational Institutes established by an Act of Parliament.
UPSC IES ISS Recruitment 2024 Selection Process

- 1. Written Examination
- 2. Interview/ Personality Test
Written Examination for UPSC IES / ISS
- The written exam will be conducted for 1000 marks.
- The time duration for Statistics–I and II in Indian Statistical Service will be 2 hours.
- The time duration for the remaining subjects will be 3 hours.
- General English and General Studies carry 100 marks each and the remaining subjects carry 200 marks for each subject.
- There will be negative markings for the wrong answers.
- The candidates who qualify for the written examination will be called for an interview.
Interview/ Personality Test
- The interview is intended to supplement the written examination for testing the general and specialized knowledge and abilities of the candidate.
- The technique of the interview is not that of a strict cross-examination but of a natural, directed and purposive conversation, intended to reveal the mental qualities of the candidate and his/her grasp of problems.
- The Board will pay special attention to assessing intellectual curiosity, critical powers of assimilation, the balance of judgement and alertness of mind, the ability for social cohesion, the integrity of character, initiation and capacity of leadership.
How to Apply UPSC IES / ISS Online Form 2024?
- The application for online registration will be hosted on the UPSC website.
- Applications will be received online only.
- Upon registration, applicants will be provided with an online Registration Number, which should be carefully preserved for future reference.
- The E–mail ID of the applicant is to be given in the application compulsorily.
- The last date for submitting an online application is 30/04/2024.
