• The above openings are for any of the Units/Offices of BEL at the following locations: Bangalore (Karnataka), Ghaziabad (UP), Pune (Maharashtra), Hyderabad/Ibrahimpatnam (Telangana), Chennai (Tamil Nadu), Machilipatnam (Andhra Pradesh), Panchkula (Haryana), Kotdwara (Uttarakhand) and Navi Mumbai (Maharashtra).

BEL Probationary Engineer Selection Process 2025

• Candidates who meet the qualifying criteria and whose online applications have been accepted will be provisionally shortlisted for the computer based test.
• The minimum qualifying marks is 35% for General/OBC/EWS candidates and 30% for SC/ST/PwBD candidates in both computer based test and interview separately.
• Based on the performance in the computer based test, candidates will be provisionally shortlisted for interview in the ratio of 1:5. Selection will be based on the performance of the candidate in both the computer based test and interview.
• The weightage for Computer based test is 85 marks and interview is 15 marks.
• Candidates who meet the qualifying criteria and whose online applications are accepted are required to log on to the BEL website and enter their credentials to access and download their computer based test call letter.
• Candidates are required to print the call letter and comply with the instructions indicated therein.
• Please note that call letters will not be sent separately through e-mail or through conventional mail.
• Candidates, whose applications are accepted through the process of submission of online applications, are eligible to attend the computer based test at the respective centre.
• The call letters will be uploaded on the BEL website.
• The candidate belonging to General /OBC (NCL)/EWS need to score a minimum of 35% to clear the Computer Based Test and candidates belonging to SC/ST/PwBD need to score a minimum of 30%.
• Based on the Computer Based Test score, candidates will be shortlisted for interview in the order of merit in the ratio 1:5. The weightage for Computer based test is 85 marks and interview is 15 marks.

Computer Based Test:

• The computer based test is for a duration of 120 minutes comprising of 125 Questions (i.e 100 Technical Questions and 25 General Aptitude and Reasoning Questions).
• Each question will carry 1 mark and there will be negative marking for wrong answers; 1/4th marks will be deducted for each wrong answer.
• The question paper will be bilingual i.e., English and Hindi only.

Syllabus:

• The syllabus for the computer based test will primarily focus on objective type questions derived from the core engineering subjects that candidates have studies as part of their respective engineering disciplines or specializations.
• Additionally, the test will include a section on General Aptitude to assess analytical and reasoning abilities, Candidates are advised to prepare thoroughly based on the curriculum of their engineering qualification.
• The list of candidates, who have been short-listed based on the computer based test for interview, will be published on the BEL website through query mode.
• They will be required to appear for an interview for final selection.
• The results of candidates selected in the interview will be published on the BEL website.

2. Applications will be received online only.
3. Upon registration, applicants will be provided with an online Registration Number, which should be carefully preserved for future reference.
